- Cut the main power switch if water threatens outlets and it's safe to get to. Never reach through standing water.
- Shift rugs, furniture and anything that ruins easily away from the water's path.
- Catch dripping ceiling water in a bucket, and if a ceiling is bulging, stay out from under it.
