What does a call out cost?

Some answers need more than two sentences, so here they are.
Why do strata faults get treated so seriously?
A single failed braided hose in one unit can cascade water through several apartments below, which makes these among the costliest urgent callouts in the suburb. We isolate fast so the damage stops with the unit that sprang the leak, then document what we found for the committee.
What makes the drainage here different to flat suburbs?
Everything is built across steep grades falling from the cathedral ridge to the harbour and the beach. Waste moves fast on the plunging runs, then strands solids where the pipe flattens near the bottom.
That combination is the signature blockage pattern on this side of Newcastle. If a drain blocks on your street, the grade is usually part of the story.
Do you deal with Hunter Water and the meter side of things?
Yes. Metered connections, new taps and compliance paperwork are ordinary parts of the job here, and the water meter installation page covers when the utility's side stops and our side starts.
Does the salt air matter for plumbing?
It does. The clifftop and harbour-view buildings cop spray off the Tasman, so outdoor pipework, cylinders and gas bottles on exposed sides of a building corrode faster than sheltered ones. That's why exterior runs get specified for the exposure and looked over during ordinary jobs.
Storm season: is flooding a risk on the ridge?
The suburb sits high, so riverine flooding isn't the issue. What bites is high-velocity runoff scouring down steep streets and overloading the downhill drainage during intense rain.
